This is a tour if you want to take in the best of Sri Lanka without hordes of cricket fans but like the idea of finishing in Galle to catch a few days of the Test Match.

This is a fully customisable version of our Classic Sri Lanka tour which combines the best of Sri Lanka with a few days of beach on the beautiful southern coastline. Only this time we have suggested combining that beach part with the test match so you can catch a few days of Test Match Cricket in one of the most exotic locations imaginable!

DAY 1:

Depart from London Heathrow (regional airports available on request).

DAY 2:

On arrival meet your English speaking chauffeur guide and transfer to Horathapola Coconut Estate. The UK will drop away from you as you arrive at one of the most relaxing places in Sri Lanka!

Overnight: Horathapola (1 night)

DAY 3:

Depart early and travel to the fascinating but little visited Rock Fortress at Yapahuwa. Marvel at the intricate stone lions that guard the entrances here the ones that adorn the 10 rupee note! Continue onwards to the heart of Sri Lankas cultural triangle the region between the 3 great capitals of Sri Lanka; Anuradhapura, Polonaruwa and Kandy.

Overnight: The Chaaya Village (3 nights)

DAYS 4-5:

Your flexible tour will enable you to take in as many of the local sites as you have the enthusiasm to fit in. Your time is your own - but all transport, guiding and entrances fees will be included in advance.

DAY 6:

Transfer this morning to Kandy the cultural capital of Sri Lanka, check in at your hotel and admire the spectacular views of Kandy. In the afternoon, take a walk around the striking Peradeniya Botanical Gardens.

Overnight Villa Rosa (2 nights)

DAY 7:

Plenty to see and do around Kandy today the famous Temple of the Tooth, Uda Watakeli Rainforest within a city and Kandyan Dancing as well as being a great place to wonder about and soak up the atmosphere.

DAY 8:

One of the great Asian train journeys today up into the hill country to the southern station of Haputale. Overnight: Melheim (2 nights)

DAY 9:

Take a walk up the viewpoint at Liptons Seat and watch the hills fall away to the plains below and the sea ion the distance. A truly magnificent view and you will understand why the famous tea planter, Thomas Lipton used to come up here for quiet mediation. An option to visit his old tea factory too.

DAY 10:

Drive down out of the hills to Galle where you chauffeur guide will leave you at your hotel. Overnight: Sun House (6 nights)

DAYS 11, 15

A few days of relaxing beachside meals, sun kissed beaches, inland temples and of course Test Match Cricket at one of the worlds most picturesque grounds.
