For those who dont want to miss a ball, this itinerary covers the cricket basics all of the first test in Galle and the second in Colombo. DAY 1: 24TH MARCH 201
DEPART LONDON HEATHROW
DAY 2
Arrival and transfer to Galle. You will be met on arrival by one of our English speaking chauffeur guides and you will be taken down to your first hotel.
Overnight The Sun House (6 nights). The Sun House will be a fun and sociable place to watch cricket from. Dicks Bar is a legendary Galle bar and has paid host to everyone and anyone who is anyone who has passed through Galle in the last 8 years. Youll pick up all the gossip. The hotel is also intimate and relaxing enough for you to escape in peace.
DAYS 3-7
The Test Match begins! Situated between the UNESCO protected Galle Fort on the one side and the Indian Ocean on the other, Galle is probably the most exotic Test Match venue in the world!
If you do need a break the cricket there are miles of sandy beaches, inland tea estates, rainforests and forgotten temples within touching distance of your hotel too.
DAY 8
You will be picked up again by your chauffeur-guide bright and early to begin the drive through the central hills to Kandy. The scenery is mind boggling as you climb through the lush, colourful , tropical lowlands up into the hills. Overnight: Villa Rosa
DAY 9
Today your chauffeur-guide will be at your disposal to take you to visit the sites of Kandy the famous botanical gardens, the Temple of The Tooth or even Sigirya (a 2 hour drive away). Overnight: Villa Rosa
DAY 10
Transfer to Colombo via the famous Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. You will be dropped off in Mount Lavinia ready for the next cricketing instalment! Overnight: Mount Lavinia.
DAYS 11-15
The Colombo test match begins! Catch all the action and retreat to your beachside hotel, just south of the chaotic city of Colombo after the match. Most of the England fans will be staying out here.
DAY 16
Transfer to the airport for your flights home.
