Day-to-Day Itinerary : Laid Back South Coast (Luxury)
DAY 1 - DEPART LONDON
Depart from London Heathrow to Colombo, Sri Lanka.
DAYS 2, 3 & 4 - Galle
Arrive in Colombo and meet your chauffeur-guide who will stay with you until dropping you at the beach. Transfer to the Amangalla - a hip, sophisticated hotel inside the UNESCO world heritage site of Galle Fort. Spend the next few days exploring the city at your own pace.
DAYS 5, 6 & 7 - Inland from Galle
Drive up into the hills above Galle for a three nights stay at the Kahanda Khanda, a blissfully relaxing villa with breath-taking panoramic views of palm fringed jungle, Koggala Lake and a working tea [plantation which surrounds the property. With lots of gentle excursions, fine food and fine furnishings, this is one of the finest places to relax in Sri Lanka.
DAYS 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 - Tangalle
Head back down to the beach for a stay at your final destination, the Amanwella. Located along one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world, there are several great villas round here for guests who require absolute privacy though in this itinerary we have included Amanwella, Sri Lankas premier beach hotel. The beach here is one of the prettiest on the island and the views from the bedrooms are magnificent. As well as relaxing on the beach there are excellent wildlife spotting opportunities at Uda Walawwe and Kalametiya Reserve as well as the spectacular rock temple at Mulgirigala. In season Rekewa is famous for the chance to watch turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs.
DAY 14
You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to nearby Dickwella in order to catch the seaplane to Colombo and connect to your flight back to the UK. As well as saving 7 hours of travelling time, the scenery on a clear day is incredible, with views of the coastline on one side and the central hills on the other.
