All the accommodation included are unique, peaceful and fit in with the surrounding environment yet have plenty to keep kids occupied.

DAY 1 - DEPART LONDON

Depart London for Colombo (departures from other UK airports also possible)

DAYS 2, 3 & 4 - THE MUDHOUSE, ANAMADUWA

Arrive Colombo and transfer to The Mudhouse. Three days to relax and explore as you please at this delightful forest hideaway. For kids their are a range of activities on your doorstep - kayaking, cycling, picnics and local historical sites. You'll have your own eco villa with hammocks and lounge area - do as little or as much as you like - a great and relaxing introduction to the country. Service and food are also excellent and The Mudhouse is a real hit with families (3 nights, full board.

DAYS 5, 6, 7 & 8 - THE WEIR HOUSE, NEAR KANDY

You will be met by your qualified, English speaking chauffeur-guide and his modern air-conditioned minivan. He will stay with you till the beach and will also facilitate any excursions and activities you may wish to do along the way. Head towards the tea clad hills around Kandy and the charming Weir House. From here you could choose to visit the many sites of Kandy and the surrounding mountains. Your driver is on hand to do trips with you on an ad-hoc basis, whilst your fabulous hosts at The Weir House will be a wealth of information on things to do locally. You may wish to spend hours on the balcony playing games, swimming and enjoying the view. (4 nights, half board)

DAYS 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 - MANDALAY VILLA, KOGGALA

From Kandy head through the mountains - a long but spectacular drive - to Koggala and the stunning Mandalay Villa, where your driver will drop you. Situated overlooking the Koggala Lake, Mandalay is one of the finest private villas on the island. Beautifully designed and finished, this is arguably the pinnacle of tropical living. Villa is sold on a villa only basis. The in-house chef will discuss meal options with you and source the produce, meaning you pay cost price for all meals and drinks - a very economical way of living indulgently. Many activities are possible from the villa and a selection of the country's best beaches are a short tuk-tuk or taxi ride away. (5 nights, villa only)

DAYS 14 & 15 - THE HIDEAWAY, GAMPAHA

Transfer along the coast to Gampaha, just north of Colombo, for a two nights stay at The Hideaway on a half board basis. This is a peaceful, indulgent villa set within a pineapple plantation, which the friendly staff will be more than happy to take you to explore. This is a perfect place to relax before the return home and the games room will keep the kids occupied.(2 nights, half board)

DAY 16 - DEPART FOR LONDON

Transfer to the airport for your return flight.

Enjoy a full day in Sri Lanka's largest National Park. The park entrance is about an hour and a half from the Mudhouse and although an early start is needed to get the full benefits of the park, it is a wonderful day trip and experience. The Park is home to Leopards, Elephants, Crocodiles and a vast array of birds and other flora and fauna. Unlike the more famous Yala National Park in the south, you will be one of very few tourists in the park and be able to experience a true sense of wilderness.
