DAY 1

Depart from London Heathrow for your flight to Colombo, Sri Lanka.

DAYS 2, 3 & 4

Arrive in Colombo and meet your chauffeur-guide who will stay with you until dropping you at the beach. Kandy is a great base from which to explore the sites locally at your own pace while enjoying the peace and seclusion at the Serendib Stone Bungalow. It is possible to visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress from here too, as well as Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, the Temple of The Tooth and soak up the atmosphere of Kandy, Sri Lankas cultural capital. You will have three nights to explore the area.

DAYS 4, 5, 6 & 7

The southern edge of the hills is famous for its wonderful views as the mountains fall away to the plains below. Sri Lankans will tell you that the climate here is the best in the country and certainly it has a rejuvenating effect on tired bodies. There are many great walks in the vicinity, waterfalls to splash about in and a lovely scenic railway journey. The town of Ella, where you will be staying, is a laid back hill town with a bit of a backpacker vibe and your accommodation, the Planters Bungalow is a brilliant place to hang out for a few days.

DAYS 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, & 12

Drop down out of the hills to the gorgeous beaches of Sri Lankas Deep South. There are several great villas round here for guests who require absolute privacy though in this itinerary we have included Palm Paradise, an institution in the area. The beach here is one of the prettiest on the island and the views from the bedrooms are magnificent. As well as relaxing there are excellent wildlife spotting opportunities at Uda Walawwe and Kalametiya Reserve as well as the spectacular rock temple at Mulgirigala. In season Rekewa is famous for the chance to watch turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs.

DAY 13

The drive back to Colombo takes as much as 7 hours so some guests may prefer to look at options such as the seaplane, or even a night in Colombo before flying home. Talk to your consultant and they will be pleased to discuss the best method for you.
