This itinerary provides the opportunity to experience the awe-inspiring ancient monuments and wilderness that Sri Lankas dry zone has to offer. The tour starts with stays at two eco-retreats that highlight the natural beauty and tranquil nature of the area. Taking in the cultural triangle, this tour provides a taste of Sri Lankan history as well as a large portion of wildlife and nature in the form of trips to Wilpattu National Park and a stay at Kalpitiya where dolphins can be seen in abundance.

Day-to-Day Itinerary : Sri Lanka's Dry Zone
DAY 1
Depart London Heathrow for Colombo, Sri Lanka.
DAYS 2 & 3
Arrive in Colombo and transfer to The Hideaway for a two nights stay on a half board basis. This is a peaceful, indulgent villa set within a pineapple plantation, the perfect spot to recuperate after your long flight.
DAYS 4, 5 & 6
Transfer to The Mudhouse, an eco-retreat located in the heart of Sri Lankas dry zone. This area is characterised by startling rock formations and scattered tanks village reservoirs which have provided the means for agriculture for thousands of years and continue to do so today. The rustic charm of the design here complements the warm and friendly hospitality of the staff. Locally guided excursions are also included such as bicycling, visit to local temples, swimming trips, lake kayaking and picnics. This little visited but beautiful are of Sri Lanka is deeply rural and life moves at a tranquil pace.
DAYS 7, 8 & 9
You will be met by your chauffeur, guide and private car who will remain with you until you are dropped at your beach hotel. This afternoon you will be driven from The Mudhouse to the equally remote Dehi Gaha Ela, visiting Sigiriya Rock Fortress en route. Proudly claimed by locals as the Eighth Wonder of the World, Sigiriya Rock Fortress is a spectacular testament to the extraordinary engineering prowess of the inhabitants of Sri Lanka 1500 years ago. The next two days will be spent with visits to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa and the Dambulla Cave Temples.
DAYS 10 & 11
After getting your culture fix, your driver will take you to your lodge at the edge of Wilpattu National Park. Set amongst a lush tropical wilderness, Anawila Lodge provides guests with a wonderful base from which to explore the fascinating and beautiful scenery and wildlife of Wilpattu. A morning and an afternoon guided safari are included.
DAYS 12, 13, 14 & 15
Heading down to the coastal peninsula of Kalpitiya, you will say goodbye to your driver and guide in exchange for some rest and relaxation at the Dolphin Beach. This secluded resort is made up of luxury tents on Alankuda beach providing a great location for enjoying the beach and Indian Ocean with dolphin and whale watching possible only a short boat ride away.
DAY 16
You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to Colombo in order to meet your return flight to London.
