Two of the best wildlife spotting opportunities in the country,Uda Walawe National Park and The Sinharaja Rainforest are the main attractions. The lush countryside bursting with colour and vitality inland from Galle is also represented as well as one of Sri Lankas most unspoilt coastal regions. DAY 1

Depart London Heathrow for Colombo

DAYS 2 & 3 THE HIDEAWAY AND AROUND

Arrive in Colombo and be met by your chauffeur-guide and private car. A short drive inland from the airport is The Hideaway , a converted three bedroom villa. The idyllic gardens, and personalised service, create a wonderfully tranquil setting in which to relax and unwind. (2 nights, Bed and Breakfast)

DAYS 4 & 5 THE RAINFOREST EDGE, SINHARAJA RAINFOREST

The Rainforest Edge is a unique, beautiful and blissfully restful place. Far from the usual tourist trail, this retreat is perched just outside the Sinharaja Rainforest proper. Take a guided walk into the Sinharaja it can be anything from a 4km stroll to a 25km round trip and witness the unbelievable wildlife in the area. (2 nights, Full Board) 

DAYS 6 & 7 MAHOORA CAMPING SAFARI, UDA WALAWE NATIONAL PARK

DAYS 8 11 BUCKINGHAM PLACE, TANGALLE

Heading south to Tangalle you will be able to relax on this beautiful stretch of coastline , unhindered by tourist crowds. Overlooking a peaceful lagoon, and a short walk from a deserted beach, Buckingham Place is a small and tranquil hotel that provides significantly more style and comfort than its price would suggest. There is much to explore in this region too, from sleepy fishing villages to bird sanctuaries and numerous turtle hatching beaches. (4 nights, Bed and Breakfast)

DAYS 12 15 ILLUKETIA, GALLE

In the hills above Galle , with spectacular views over the dramatic coastline below and amongst stunning gardens, Illuketia is an enchanting property in one of the most beautiful areas of Sri Lanka. The hotel is close enough to be able to explore Galle Fort and other nearby attractions and beaches. Inland river trips and walks are a great way to see the country and there are many tucked away temples for the intrepid to discover. (4 nights, Bed and Breakfast)

DAY 16

After a short transfer to Koggala airfield, you will travel by seaplane to Colombo. This is a beautiful way to see the country and dramatically reduces the journey time from the south coast. You will be transferred to your international flight.
