Amapola is a new, private four bedroom villa in Weligama, 25 minutes drive from Galle and close to the excellent beaches of Mirissa and beyond. Built high on a hill overlooking the Indian Ocean, Amapola is distinctly modern in style. The two-tiered villa sits proudly within a one and a half acre grassy garden of coconut and frangipani trees. The18 meter infinity pool is central and is surrounded by tasteful wrought iron furniture and large woven hammocks.

The living room, on the ground floor, is lavishly furnished with a separate dining room adjacent. Each bedroom is unique in design and finish. The second floor master bedroom is the biggest, with a large four poster bed and spacious veranda overlooking the pool, garden and ocean. There are two other double rooms and one twin. All have en suite bathrooms with powerful showers. Shiny tiled floors are used throughout the villa.

It is possible to swim on the sandy beach beneath the villa a steep path from the garden meanders down. The huge, sweeping Weligama Bay is located nearby, with good local shopping and a vibrant fish market.

The villa is fully staffed with gardeners, a maid, housekeeper and chef. A great location and a fantastic villa for a family or a group of friends to enjoy a luxurious holiday together.

Villa - The 'Villa' is a similar concept to the 'holiday home' in Europe, with some very key differences. They are usually fully staffed with cooking and service provided for you. Staff will generally cook meals to your specification and purchase food and drink for you at cost price, making them excellent value. They are generally, but not always, pretty smart and luxurious too and feel in many ways like a small private hotel. Nonetheless, your villa is still effectively a home and therefore you cannot expect the same level of training, English speaking or slickness that you might expect from a hotel at a similar cost. As the owners are not generally holiday professionals we cannot guarantee the quality of a villa matches expectations in a way we can with hotels. That said, the personal local touch means villas are generally much more friendly and interactive than hotels and have much to recommend them. The privacy and space makes them wonderful for families and groups of friends.
