Amaya Langdale, Nuwara Eliya
Sri Lanka, Kandy & Hill Country

Amaya Langdale

Info : Amaya Langdale

Amaya Langdale is a 13 bedroom property in the breathtaking hills that surround the old Colonial hill station of Nuwara Eliya. In the heart of the traditional tea country, the property provides an opportunity to experience the charm and stunning scenery of the colonial heartland of Sri Lanka in a beautifully converted early twentieth century building.

The 13 rooms are split into three categories; superior, luxury and deluxe, that combine antique style furnishings with a good range of modern amenities. The rooms all have a similar range of facilities and are all maintained to a high standard with good en-suite bathrooms. The superior rooms are a little smaller and have garden views, the deluxe rooms have spectacular mountain views while the luxury rooms have a separate living area and a Jacuzzi in the bathroom.

Situated between Nuwara Eliya and Horton Plains, Amaya Langdale is a very good option for those that would like to experience the beauty and peaceful tranquillity of the tea country, while still being within easy access of the town referred to as ‘little England’ and Horton Plains, one of Sri Lanka’s many natural wonders that offers jaw dropping views over the south of the country as the hills fall away.

Along with Nuwara Eliya and Horton Plains, Amaya Langdale provides guests with the usual range of hill country experiences. Guests can arrange walking or cycling in the hills, absorb the setting with a book, visit one of the numerous tea plantations and factories or simply relax by the pool. The hotel also offers a wider range of facilities than many of the smaller planter’s bungalows in the area, including a bar with a snooker table and satellite TV and a spa, while maintaining more of the traditional tea country charm than some of the larger hotels in or around Nuwara Eliya.

Comfort - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, whether it is character, service or excellent facilities.
