Kassapa Lion's Rock is a mid-range hotel on the outskirts of Sigiriya. Located with great views of the rock fortress from around the grounds, the hotel offers excellent value accommodation in a peaceful and tranquil setting.

The hotel has a total of 31 air-conditioned chalets spread around the large grounds. The atmosphere is peaceful and laid-back, even when full. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well equipped. This is certainly not the height of luxury, but will be more than sufficient for many travellers who will spend much of their time in the area out and about exploring the ancient and natural sites. Bathrooms are particularly good here, finished in polished cement and complete with separate shower and bathtub.

A central, open plan restaurant is the heart of the hotel, with breezes flowing through on three sides and pleasant views of the surrounding countryside. The hotel swimming pool commands excellent views of Sigiriya rock.

The location is somewhat remote and there is not a lot to do in the surrounding area. This can be a plus point for many people. You will likely have a driver with you when staying here, making the resort a good option as a base for exploring the cultural triangle at large.

Overall the Kassapa Lions Rock Hotel is a good, mid-range option in the cultural triangle and would be suitable for couples and families alike.
