Nestled on the slopes of the Hantana range high above the city of Kandy, Theva Residency offers modern laid back luxury with fantastic west facing views of Kandy and the surrounding valleys. These views can be enjoyed throughout the hotel, whether from the balcony of your room, the stylish restaurant and patio or the infinity pool and the poolside bar.
15 minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, this is a hugely relaxing place from which to enjoy the sites and sounds of the capital of the Sri Lankan hill country. The building and its interior are contemporary and stylish whilst the rooms and furnishings are light and minimalist. All have a balcony or a large window.
We advise an upgrade to one of the large superior rooms with their private balconies, each fitted with an outdoor Jacuzzi. With a few splashes of bright colours, these rooms are cool and light with white from floor to ceiling. While the deluxe rooms are nice and comfortable, they are quite compact and do not have a balcony. All rooms come with a flat screen television, broadband internet and 24 hr in-room dinning.
The chic communal areas provide a lovely setting in which to sit back and enjoy the stunning scenery. The pool is beautiful and the food is a good fusion of west and east.

Superior - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.

the description on the Homepage of the Theva website is completely correct, all the things it promises were delivered. We were given an upgrade to a suite which was very much appreciated but all the rooms and the hotel itself are lovely with an absolutely stunning view. If you've already had enough of Sri Lankan curry by this stage then there is a wide range of non-curry options on the menu, however as we loved them so much, we asked the Chef to cook us the Sri Lankan curry experience for dinner as it only features on the lunch menu. This meal breaks any records we've previously set when eating curries - 17 amazing dishes between two people!!
