The Thilanka is an excellent 3 star hotel in a great central location in Kandy.

The standard rooms are a little basic, but the deluxe rooms are good value, comfortable and well furnished, with views from the balcony over Kandy. Monkeys jump around here, so keep the windows shut!

The pool is a real joy; lazing in the pool you enjoy a lovely view of Kandy Lake and the town, with the large Buddha gazing serenely from across the valley.

This is a large hotel with spacious communal areas. Great for kids to run around and explore without causing too much disturbance.

There is a central restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Kandy also has some great restaurants to explore. Generally the service is friendly, efficient and laid-back. Great value in an ideal location.
