The Weligama Bay Resort is the only hotel of its kind on the majestic, sweeping Weligama Bay. A range of luxuriously appointed rooms, great overall facilities and a prime location put the hotel head and shoulders above the competition in the area.

The hotel consists of a large, sea-facing three storey building and a selection of stand alone villas. The 24 rooms and suites are split into five categories: Superior Room (located on the first floor of the main building), Connected Bungalow (in the garden), Garden Villa (in the garden), Junior Suite and Royal Suite (both on the second floor with commanding views). All rooms are well appointed with quality entertainment options, air conditioning and a range of trimmings. The overall design and style is elegant and sophisticated and worthy of the luxury title.

Facilities are also of a very high standard. The hotel has a quality spa, swimming pool, jacuzzi and cocktail lounge. The main restaurant is worthy of particular mention too. With indoor (air-conditioned) seating and an outdoor terrace overlooking the beach. A range of cuisines are served a-la-carte to an excellent standard, with the seafood menu offering numerous delicious ways to prepare the local catch. You probably couldn't find a better location for sourcing fresh seafood.

Weligama is one of Sri Lanka's most picturesque beaches. Shaped like a large horse shoe, the bay is home to the iconic Taprobane Island, hundreds of colourful boats and one of the best fish markets in the south. Swimming is nearly always possible, whilst Mirissa Beach is a mere 5 minutes away by tuk tuk if you want to mix your sands up.
