The relaxed pace allows you to enjoy the wonderful sights and sounds of this beautiful country, whilst staying in the very best luxury hotels the country has to offer.

The tour begins with a night close to the airport to allow you to relax and settle in. Once rested, you will be driven up to the Cultural Triangle to take in the cultural and historic sights such as the ancient city of Anuradhapura, the Rock Monastery of Ritigala, Aukana Standing Buddha and Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Moving south towards the centre of the island, you will visit the town of Kandy, including the sacred Temple of the Tooth and the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens before boarding a train through the Hill Country for a stay at one of Sri Lanka's most superior accommodation options, an old colonial tea plantation. You will round off your trip with a stay on the south coast for five nights in one of the most beautiful hotels on the island.

This tour includes the highlights of Sri Lanka, staying in truly luxurious accommodation throughout.

The cost is £4395 per person based on two travelling.

DAY 1

Depart London Heathrow for Colombo, Sri Lanka

DAY 2

You will be met at the airport by your qualified chauffeur-guide and modern, air-conditioned car. Your chauffeur-guide will stay with you until dropping you at the beach towards the end of the trip. The Wallawwe is an airport hotel with a difference. A converted ancestral manor house this is a seriously beautiful place to arrive to. The food is fantastic too. A great place to unwind after the flight and ease your way into Sri Lanka.

DAYS 3, 4 & 5

Your private chauffeur guide will drive you to Ulagalla, the finest hotel in the region by a country mile. With just 10 suite rooms your every need will be provided for. Use the hotel as a base to explore the Cultural Triangle and the many wonderful ancient sites in the region. The time here is your own.

DAYS 6 & 7

The next two nights will be spent in Kandys finest hotel, The Kandy House. The converted aristocratic walauwe, or manor house, is a fine example of Kandyan architecture and a wonderful base for exploring or simply relaxing in beautiful and stylish surroundings.

Visit the famous Temple of the Tooth, play Golf at the Victoria Golf Course, explore the vibrant street markets and stroll around the Kandy lake. Kandy has seduced generations of visitors and continues to charm. Its rich history survives to this day.

DAYS 8, 9 & 10

Travel up by train through Sri Lankas mountainous interior to a wonderful converted tea plantation bungalow, one of four converted by Tea Trails. Experience the high-life of a colonial tea planter. For the intrepid, there are many great walks and activities available before returning to enjoy the stunning location beside the Castlereagh Lake.

DAYS 11 & 12

Drop down out of the mountains to the historic town of Galle with its famous old Dutch Fort. Amangalla is a truly one off experience. Magical.

DAYS 13, 14 & 15

Your tour ends in the fabulous beach resort of Amanwella near Tangalle. The ultimate in beachside bliss, this hotel has it all in one of the finest locations in the world. Thirty ultra-modern suite rooms, all have private swimming pools and breath taking views of the paradise bay below. Without a doubt, the most exclusive hotel in the country. Amanwella is the perfect way to round of an indulgent trip to Sri Lanka. Total relaxation.

DAY 16

You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to nearby Koggala airport. From here you will take the Sri Lankan Airlines Air Taxi to Colombo.

The low-altitude flight offers great views on clear days of the mountains on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other. A memorable finish to your holiday. Land at Colombo and check in for your return flight to London.
