Filitheyo Island Resort is a quality 4 star property on a 900 by 500 metre island in Faafu Atoll, a 40 minute seaplane ride from Male.

Filitheyo's 131 Superior Deluxe and Water Villas are scattered around the edge of the island and above the beach and shallow lagoon waters. There are 94 of the entry level Superior Villas (which are on the beach and semi-detached with semi open-air bathrooms), 15 Deluxe Villas (which are detached and larger) and 16 stilted Villas. Several of the Superior Villas can be interconnecting, turning them into 2 bedroom Family Villas. All the resorts have excellent facilities and good wooden deck verandas and the majority of them have direct beach access.

Filitheyo has two dining options: the main restaurant offers a varied buffet style with international cuisines, whilst the Sunset Bar & Grill offer a-la-carte options. The food is good and with an excellent chef in residence.

All the usual water sports are offered here including a PADI certified dive centre, snorkeling, windsurfing, catamarans, canoeing & sailing. In addition there is volleyball, table tennis and a gym. The excellent house reef is easily accessible from the beach.

Filitheyo Island Resort is excellent value and good choice for those seeking the luxury Maldives experience without entering the top-end price bracket.

Deluxe - Deluxe hotels would have a superb level of service, very comfortable and usually spacious bedrooms, excellent food, great design and character. For us, when we visited, these places all had the 'wow factor'. A deluxe hotel should satisfy the criteria of the most discerning clients.
