Makunudu

Info : Makunudu

One of the few (if not the only) resorts to maintain that original Maldivian 'Robinson Crusoe' appeal, Makanudu offers a dazzling setting coupled with great service and simple but comfortable and spacious accommodation.

None of the bells and whistles that some of the super luxury resorts have, Makunudu trades on the fact that there are so few bungalows and their simplicity is turned into a great virtue.

With only 30 rooms, Makunudu has fewer guests at any one time than almost all the other islands and far less than any in a remotely similar price category. Returning guests mention the high quality service and the friendly, intimate atmosphere. On such a small island the choice of eating is obviously limited, but the emphasis on local cuisine and the set menu evening meals provide excellent options for all those of a (mildly) adventurous culinary bent.

The house reef is also excellent and there are many fantastic dive sites nearby. We suspect it will not remain as gloriously untouched and un-tampered with for too much longer!

Makunudu is situated in the North Male Atoll and is a 55 minute speedboat from Male.

Comfort - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, whether it is character, service or excellent facilities.
