There is no such thing as a low cost Maldives' Resort. The cost of imports, the unique geography of The Maldives and the inevitable march of development mean that most resorts in the Maldives are 4* to 5* or above.
There are some exceptions which we would not recommend unless you are a very keen diver. However, there are a couple of inexpensive gems which retain some of the simplicity and beauty of the original beach hut feel.
