Info : Wilpattu National Park
Comprising of dense pockets of jungle scrub interspersed with small clearings amongst tanks that fill and shrink with the changing seasons; Wilpattu National Park is home to elephants, leopards, spotted deer, sloth bears, wild pigs, crocodiles and more. At 1085 square kilometres, Wilpattu is Sri Lankas largest park and also one of its oldest.
Located approximately 30 km from both Anuradhapura and Puttalam, the national park is within easy reach. Morning or afternoon safaris are a great way to see some of Sri Lankas wildlife and scenery and can be combined with trips to other sights within the Cultural Triangle.
