Located in Beragala at the southern edge of the hill country, the Melhein Resort is a quality 9 bedroom property with great views across the southern plains to the coast. Simple, clean and reasonably priced, the resorts nine rooms have en-suite bathrooms, private balconies and commanding views.
A gorgeous swimming pool with commanding views is one of the highlights of the property and a beautiful way to see the sunrise or sunset. There is also a small Jacuzzi and a steam room. The central restaurant serves a variety of Sri Lankan and western cuisine for breakfast lunch and dinner. Outdoor dining is also offered.
Beragala is a great place to be based to explore the hills, with towns like Haputale, Bandarawela, Ella and Badulla just a short drive away. Close to the hotel are a number of breathtaking waterfalls and wildlife sanctuaries such as Horton plains and Uda Walawe National Park.
The Melheim Resort is a welcome addition to the accommodation options in this part of the country and offers great value for money for the standard of accommodation and location.
