The Fortress hotel has given luxury accommodation on the south coast yet another angle.

Rooms are split into four categories; Fortress, Beach and Ocean Rooms and Fortress Residencies. All are sumptuous and luxurious with a few minor differences. The Residences are located on either corner of the top floor and have two large bedrooms, lounge and private infinity pool.

Ipods with remote controls, docking stations, powerful Bose surround sound systems and wide screen televisions/dvd players are standard in all rooms. All feature king size beds and sophisticated lighting options, often operated from a single switch. Open plan bathrooms feature large, glass walled rain showers and striking curved bathtubs. A fresh espresso coffee maker with quality coffees and a selection of fine Sri Lankan leaf teas are replenished daily. The mini bar contains a good selection of wines and spirits. Wireless internet is available free. Two large swimming pools run parallel with the beach.

The Fortress has an excellent spa offering international treatments. A business centre sees to all communication needs. There are six eating and drinking options, serving a fine selection of international cuisines and wines. The attentive staff can deliver food and beverages to your room, 24 hours a day.

The Fortress is large enough to offer anonymity, yet small enough to provide first class, attentive service. Attention to detail in all areas ensures a romantic and memorable stay. Ideal for honeymooners or anyone seeking to indulge!

Superior - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
